Boys Hockey: Top-seed EGF handles Lakers

The Section 8-1A top-seeded East Grand Forks boys’ hockey team controlled puck and play in a convincing 8-1 victory over No. 5 Detroit Lakes Saturday inside Ralph Engelstad Arena in Thief River Falls.


The Green Wave (22-2-1) stayed in DL’s zone for much of the game, outshooting the Lakers (17-8-1) by a wide 62-14 margin.

DL goalie MacKenzie Steele was busy and came up with 54 saves, while EGF’s Josh Weber had 13.
