Boys Soccer: Lakers own 2nd half to advance
It may have taken half the game to get their legs underneath them, but the motivation of advancing in the Section 8-1A playoffs was much too intense for the Detroit Lakes boys’ soccer team, which picked up the pace in the second half of its 3-0 victory over visiting Fergus Falls Thursday.
After outshooting the No. 7 Fergus Falls (2-13) team by a 4-1 margin in the first half, the No. 2 Lakers (8-7-1) poured in the goals to advance to the quarterfinals.
