Going into the second period down two goals isn't anything to overwhelming, but B/LF erupted for five goals in a long second period.

Most hockey games a team can single out a player who stood out or even a line, but for Brainerd/Little Falls, the scoring was well balanced, with 12 different girls registering a point.

B/LF was led by Sierra Cavegn with two goals and an assist and Elle Adams with a goal and two assists.

Other Brainerd/Little Falls goal scorers included Ali Archibald, Molly Peltoma, Ellie Whiteman, C.J. Arndt, Kaytlyn Gerads, Brooklyn Motschenbacher and Lizzy Desrocher.

The Laker coach subbed in eighth grade goaltender Veronica Roy in the third period for starter Winona Goettel, but it didn't slow down the scoring as B/LF added three more goals on the young goalie.

The Lakers (5-18-1) will wait for their section seeding Wednesday. They are estimated to bring in the No. 4 seed, which would give them a home opening round playoff game Saturday against the No. 5 seed.
