BTD wins top honors with state magazine
BTD has taken home some big honors as it won the Manufacturer of the Year: Large, award from Minnesota Business Magazine.
After also being nominated last year, this is the first time BTD has won the award, which was presented in Minneapolis.
BTD was the only metal manufacturing company to be nominated in this category and was competing against Red Wing Shoe Company and Skyline Exhibits, for the award.
Over the last several years BTD has grown into a company with six locations throughout the Midwest and employs over 850 people.
BTD prides itself on innovation and continuous improvement and has won awards in these areas in the past including a 2012 award for “Lean Manufacturer of the Year” from Polaris.
Over the last five years BTD has seen sales growth from 100 million to 180 million due to strategic expansion and growth of key accounts.
The company has also streamlined its processes to position itself for future growth and expansion.
BTD began in 1979 as Bismarck Tool and Die Co. and became the new BTD in 2011 when Miller Welding, Performance Tool & Die, and BTD Manufacturing, Inc. combined.
