Callaway home burns to the ground
A Callaway home is now a total loss as a result of fire that was reported early this morning.
By the time firefighters arrived at the house located at 25329 Broadway Ave. around 5:15 a.m., the structure was burnt to the ground, Callaway Fire Chief Keith Heinlein said.
"It was engulfed," he added. "The roof was already in. It was quite a ways gone."
Firefighters believe it was an electrical fire that started at the entryway of the home.
No one was injured and the only person who was staying at the home is apparently a seasonal resident, said Callaway Fire Captain Jim Okeson.
The Detroit Lakes Fire Department and the Becker County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.
