Callaway man convicted, sentenced for burglary
A Callaway man was convicted and sentenced Tuesday in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of second degree burglary.
Johnathon Daniel Moore, 31, of 207 Dakota St., Callaway, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, stayed on conditions including completion of 118 days in jail (with credit for 118 days served since his arrest), up to 10 years of supervised probation and payment of $1,180 in court fines and fees.
According to court records, Moore broke into a Frazee residence on May 23 and took multiple items, including medications, a television, small safe, television, camera, chain saw, air rifle and check blanks.
The break-in was discovered when someone from Days Inn in Fargo called the homeowner to report that some of his prescriptions had been left in a room there; the homeowner said he hadn’t been to Days Inn.
On May 27, Moore was the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a high speed chase in which the vehicle he was driving ended up in a ditch. A search of his vehicle and of Moore revealed several items that matched the description of items stolen from the Frazee residence, including the owner’s driver’s license.
