Callaway radio station gets arts grant
Niijii Radio is proud to announce it has won a competitive public radio grant from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, which is part of the Legacy funds from the State of Minnesota.
The Legacy Funds were created when the Clean Water, Land and Legacy amendment was passed in 2008. The Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund was created to support the arts, arts education and arts access, and to preserve Minnesota's history and cultural heritage.
Niijii Radio applied for funds to support several upcoming radio segments and ongoing projects that focus on arts, culture and history.
Five projects -- Niijii's Pow-wow Trail, Dibaajimowin (Storytelling)-Local and Regional Storytelling and History, Madwewechige (Play Music) and Arts Gala, new Artists on Air and Wiijigindiwag -- have received funding through this grant.
Niijii Radio is a community radio station located at 607 Main Ave., Callaway and serves White Earth and surrounding areas.
