As was the case all season with the Angels, injuries played a big part in the game.

DL was not only without Wade Whitworth, who has a broken toe, but expected starting pitcher Chad Griffin was not able to pitch.

Griffin was scheduled to start, but while warming up in the bullpen his hamstring, which he injured a weak earlier, was not up to full strength and Griffin was scratched.

Justin Berg was announced as the starting pitcher 15 minutes before the start of the game.

The Angels had a great chance to take an early lead in the first as they loaded the bases off of Casey Kowalski with nobody out.

Kowalski rebounded by striking out the next two hitters, before getting a fly ball to center to end the Angels' threat.

In the fourth inning, the Hurricanes scored two runs off of Berg.

Jarrod Asmus and Matt Brekke singled to start the inning. A walk to Jamie Jacklitch loaded the bases, and Ben Brimhall then grounded to second. The throw to shortstop got the first out, but the relay to first was high for an error and two runs scored.

Wadena-Deer Creek draftee Jordan Wohlwend replaced Berg on the mound with two out in the fourth.

The Angels tied the game in the sixth, as Phil Kirchner walked with one out and Terry Haus followed with a single.

A fielder's choice to second moved both runners up, where they would score on a two out double by Matt Olson.

In the top of the 11th, Ben Brimhall singled with one out, Nick Lewis followed with a single.

Matt Olson relieved Wohlwend and gave up an RBI single to Alex Conboy to give the Hurricanes the lead.

The Angels made the game interesting in the bottom of the 11th.

Back-to-back singles with two out, by Olson and Matt Nustad, gave the draftee from Perham Andy Kratzke the chance to tie the game, but a pop up to first base ended the game -- and the season -- for the Angels.

Aaron Jenkins recorded the win for the Hurricanes by pitching the final three innings.

Wohlwend took the loss for the Angels.
