At the Holmes Theatre's monthly Cabaret Nights, you can unwind under the beautiful lights of the Holmes Ballroom, sip on your favorite drink and nibble on fabulous appetizers. Vincent and the Van Goes will perform at a "Surf's Up" themed Cabaret Night, Thursday, Jan. 29, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The one word that best describes the music of the Van-Goes is variety. However, this is no variety band, ala "Knock Three Times" and "Brown-Eyed Girl." The band states that they play "blues, rockabilly, surf and stuff", and that's exactly what you'll hear when they play. While the first three styles are self-explanatory, the "stuff" is open-ended, and they like it that way. Don't be surprised to hear some rock and a little jazz thrown in the mix. Admission is $5. There will be a cash bar and appetizer menu available. Call the Historic Holmes Theatre Box Office at 218-844-SHOW for more information.
