Cass Lake man killed in Highway 2 accident
A Cass Lake man was killed in a head-on collision Monday afternoon on U.S. Highway 2 east of Bena.
Geoffrey R. Woodley, 52, was killed when his eastbound Volkswagon Golf swerved into the westbound lane and hit a logging truck head on, the Minnesota State Patrol said. Both vehicles burned.
The driver of the truck, Richard D. Cormican, 35, of Big Fork, suffered no apparent injury.
The accident happened around 1:37 p.m. ten miles east of Bena. The two-lane highway was dry at the time, the State Patrol reports.
