Charles Dahlgren

Sept. 14, 1940-March 23, 2008

Former Lake Park resident Charles A. Dahlgren, 67, of Northfield, Minn., died peacefully in the presence of his loving family on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008.

Born on a farm near Lake Park on Sept. 14, 19140, Charles went on to receive bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial engineering from North Dakota State University in Fargo. He enjoyed a successful business career including leadership positions at Cutler-Hammer, Sheldahl, North Star Concrete and his own business ventures.

Charles enjoyed the outdoors, sports, antique John Deere tractors and most of all, being with family at his lake place on Big Cormorant. His bear hugs will be dearly missed.

Surviving Charles are his wife of 44 years, Julie Ann (Bloemendaal) Dahlgren; daughter, Robyn (Charlie) Swenson; sons, Ed (Ruth) and Andrew (Kim) Dahlgren; seven grandchildren; brother, Lyle (Janet) Dahlgren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was scheduled from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina, which has been handling arrangements for the family. No public services are planned.
