Chase leads to additional theft, other charges

BEMIDJI -- A man who fled from police Friday morning and was taken into custody about 12 hours later is being held in jail on a parole hold and $25,000 bail for new theft charges after the discovery of stolen goods in the home in which he was found hiding.


James Adam Schummer, 27, was arrested Friday evening at a home in the 6000 block of Mac Court in Eckles Township, according to a press release issued by Beltrami County Sheriff Phil Hodapp.
