DLCCC New Year's Eve Bash
Looking for an entertaining way to spend your New Year's Eve? Bring your friends and family to the Detroit Lakes Community & Cultural Center New Year's Eve Bash, today (Wednesday) from 6-10 p.m. There will be organized gym and pool games, Hank the Hound will be in the pool and the 22-inch giant slide will be set up in the fieldhouse. Play bingo, join in the balloon drop, try out the DLCCC's climbing wall and much more! The cost is just $5 per person or $20 per family, and includes hot dogs, chips and pop. '80s Class Reunion'
The Fargo Entertainment Company premiers the "80s Class Reunion" dinner show tonight at the ClubHouse Hotel in Detroit Lakes. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and seating is limited. Call 847-2121 to purchase tickets.
Giggle Water Gala
The Speak Easy in Detroit Lakes is hosting a Giggle Water Gala, starting a 6 p.m. Doc and the Scrubs, along with Party 2 Go, will provide entertainment. A five-course meal will be on the menu. At midnight, there will be a complimentary champagne toast.
Sober New Year's Party
The Frazee Event Center is hosting a "Sober New Year's Party." Dinner will be provided by the Perham Alamo Society at 6:30 p.m. A dance will run from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for those aged 12 and under. A Wadena band, "Fake It 'Til You Make It," will be providing live music.

ITOW exhibit closes
Today is the final day to view the exhibit "Portraits of Home II: Veterans in Search of Shelter in Greater Minnesota." Sponsored by the Greater Minnesota Housing Fund, the exhibit addresses an important question for our times, "What does society owe those who have committed their lives to serving their country?" The photographers in this exhibition -- Carlos Gonzalez, Brian Lesteberg, Stormi Greener, Steve Streble, Cathy ten Broeke, and Chante Wolf -- have used their cameras to document images of homelessness and sub-standard housing, issues that face some veterans even today. The ITOW Veterans Museum is located at 805 West Main, Perham, and is open Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, 1-4 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students. Veterans are admitted free.

Plus Square Dance
Lakes Plus hosts a Plus Square Dance from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes Odd Fellows Hall. Roger McNeil will call tips. All dancers and spectators are welcome.

Women in Business
The Business Relations Committee of St. Mary's Foundation presents "Women in Business: equipping women with tools for both professional and personal life." Dr. Talitha Sannes-Venhuizen will present "Women's Health Issues" from noon to 1 p.m. at the Lodge on Lake Detroit. Future presentations include: Wednesday, Feb. 18, Howard Hansen, "Calm Leadership in Times of Stress"; Tuesday, April 14, Howard Hansen, "Toxicity in the Workplace." Chicago City Limits
Heralded as New York City's longest-running improvisational comedy show, Chicago City Limits comes to the Historic Holmes Theatre stage in Detroit Lakes for one night only, at 7:30 p.m. This troupe has thrilled audiences for over 25 years with its unique style of "comedy without a net." Tickets are $25 for adults, $12.50 for students, and may be purchased at the Holmes Theatre Box Office, by phone at 218-844-SHOW (7469), or online at www.dlccc.org.
