Christmas at the library
Detroit Lakes Minnesota 511 Washington Avenue 56501

Christmas is upon us! Your library has Christmas favorites like the classic movies "It's a Wonderful Life," and "A Christmas Carol, and the more contemporary movie "12 Dogs of Christmas."

Our Christmas music CDs include "Let it Snow" by Michael Buble, "The Christmas Collection" by Amy Grant, and "Under the Mistletoe" by Justin Bieber.

When the hustle and bustle of the season gets to you, curl up with a good book like those highlighted below.

The staff at Detroit Lakes Library wishes you all a Merry Christmas!

"The Spirit of Christmas," by Nancy Tillman.

Bells jingle, sleds dash through the snow, trees are topped with sparkling stars, and children everywhere dream of candy canes and presents. But the best gift of all -- the most magical gift of the season -- is when we spend Christmas with those we love. Once again, this New York Times-bestselling author and artist has created a special, beautiful book that families will want to share year after year. (And readers will want to look for the Spirit of Christmas image that Nancy has hidden on every page!)

"The Perfect Christmas," by Debbie Macomber.

What would make your Christmas perfect? For Cassie Beaumont, it's meeting her perfect match. Cassie, at thirty-three, wants a husband and kids, and so far, nothing's worked. Not blind dates, not the internet and certainly not leaving love to chance. What other options are there? Well...she could hire a professional matchmaker. Simon Dodson has quite a reputation, but he's very choosy about the clients he takes on -- and very expensive. Cassie considers him a difficult, acerbic know-it-all, and she's astonished when he accepts her as a client.
