Clay County seeks public's help in identifying suspects in assault/robbery
MOORHEAD - The Clay County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to help identify two suspects in an assault and robbery Oct. 10 on Interstate 94 near the Downer exit.
The alleged victim met two men at The Hub bar in Fargo that night.
The men offered to give the victim a ride to Fergus Falls, and the victim remembers leaving The Hub at about 8:45 p.m., Sheriff's Detective Jason Hicks said in a news release.
"The next thing he remembers is waking up in the ditch on I-94 with a cut on his head and a deep cut on his right thigh," Hicks wrote.
The victim called 911 from his cell phone and deputies responded. He was treated and released at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.
The victim thought he had about $200 to $300 in cash when he left The Hub, and the money was missing.
He gave the following description of the suspects:
- The driver was a white male in his early 30s, 6 feet tall, 180 to 200 pounds, with a mustache and goatee, brown hair and wearing a jean jacket and black jeans.
- The passenger was a Hispanic or Bosnian male in his 40s, about 5-feet-2-inches tall, 160 pounds, with a mustache and goatee, graying hair and wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
The victim believes the car was a silver Buick Century with unknown North Dakota plates, Hicks said.
Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to contact Hicks at (218) 299-5151.
