Colorado man dies in Douglas County tubing accident
A 32-year-old Colorado man died in a tubing accident last Thursday evening on Pocket Lake.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, a 911 call came in shortly after 5:30 p.m. from 10677 Easy Street, which is on the west side of Pocket Lake in Holmes City Township.
Charles Eric Thomas of Johnstown, Colorado was being pulled on a tube behind a boat operated by a relative.
The tube reportedly struck a docked pontoon at a residence along the lakeshore. Thomas suffered injuries to his back, according to the sheriff's report.
He was transported by North Ambulance to Douglas County Hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Also responding to the scene were Holmes City First Responders, Lowry First Responders and the Minnesota State Patrol.
