Congregational Church hosts theater show
The Congregational Church of Detroit Lakes is pleased to welcome the Mixed Blood Theatre back to Detroit Lakes this Thursday, Jan. 20, for a free performance of "African America" at the Historic Holmes Theatre.
Mixed Blood Theatre promotes pluralism throughout Minnesota and the Upper Midwest with several touring productions, performing in schools, colleges, community centers, places of worship, detention centers, corporate board rooms and on reservations.
"African America" involves the surprising appearance of a magical Africa, which leads a modern interracial couple to a better understanding and appreciation of the experience of U.S. immigrants from Liberia, Ethiopia and Somalia.
This moving show, which addresses a prominent contemporary issue in our country and community, begins at 7 p.m. in the Historic Holmes Theatre, located at 806 Summit Ave.
The performance is free and open to the public.
Underwriting this performance is part of the Congregational Church's ongoing emphasis on multiculturalism.
