By a wide margin the Continental Divide Festival is the biggest and best musical extravaganza the New York Mills Cultural Center has produced in at least 17 years.

You will not regret being a part of this celebration of original music, new films, and art, set for Friday and Saturday in New York Mills.

Haley Bonar and the Pines are headliners -- don't miss this chance to hear amazing music right in your own backyard.

Make time and enjoy an end-of-summer experience of the very best music, film, and culture in Minnesota today. And, what is more, all the events, including fresh corn, are free on Friday.

Saturday admission to more than 8 hours of the very best roots music is only $20 for adult general admission, $10 for youth ages 13-18, and free for all kids age 12 and under.

Friday events in downtown New York Mills start at 4 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m., with a community corn feed, a large-scale street puppet pageant, steamroller printmaking, and a fire-eater mime show.

Right after the Puppet Pageant there will be a free concert by the Cactus Blossoms, and a short film festival.

All events on Friday are free. Camping is available beginning at 10 a.m. both Friday and Saturday nights in the campground right next to the VFW.

There are lots of events for kids too, including steamroller printmaking, the Clockwork Clown mime and fire-eating show, and "bouncey-house inflatables."

On Saturday the event moves to the VFW Concert Grounds on the north side of NYM. With two stages and over eight hours of high energy and non-stop music --the very best in country, folk, blues, and rock music by some of the best talents in Minnesota. Erik and Pete Keranen will start the music off on Saturday at noon. They will be followed by Pocahontas County (old time and bluegrass), Tim Sparks (world music), Erik Koskinen (country rock), Caitlin Robertson (folk/country), Elisa Korenne (Minnesota originals), Galactic Cowboy Orchestra (rock/folk), The Pines (old time/bluegrass/country), and Haley Bonar (rock/folk/country).
