Country legend Tanya Tucker comes to Shooting Star
This Friday, Dec. 16, Shooting Star Casino's Event Center will host an 8 p.m. concert by country music legend Tanya Tucker.
Tanya Tucker was bound for country stardom at a young age. At 13, she began singing at local county fairs as the opening act for visiting county stars, taking on great county legend hits such as Loretta Lynn's "You Ain't Woman Enough."
Catching the attention of producer Billy Sherrill, Tucker was signed to Columbia Records in 1972. She released her first hit single "Delta Dawn," which reached Top 10.
In 1986, Tucker, working with Capitol Records, released "Girls Like Me," spawning four Top 10 country hit singles. Two years later, Tucker released a string of hits peaking at No. 1, including "I Won't Take Less Than Your Love," "If It Don't Come Easy" and "Strong Enough to Bend."
In the early 1990s, Tucker released eight consecutive singles that reached Top 10, including "Down to My Last Teardrop," "(Without You) What Do I Do With Me" and "Two Sparrows in a Hurricane."
Following many successful years in country music, Tucker received the County Music Association award for Female Vocalist of the Year in 1991.
Tickets for Friday's show start at $15 and can be purchased by phone at 1-800-313-7469 or online at www.shootingstar.com.
