Craig Fredrickson

Craig J. Fredrickson, 29, of Fargo, died Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Innovis Hospital, Fargo.

Craig was born to James Fredrickson and Lynette Majerus on March 21, 1977 in Detroit Lakes. He graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1996. He was a state champion in football and track in his high school years. He continued his studies at North Dakota State University, Fargo, and graduated in 2001 with a degree in MIS. While attending NDSU on football and track scholarships, he was an NCC decathlon conference champion, an indoor pentathlon record holder and conference champion and he placed in the decathlon as an All American. Craig was a starting running back for the NDSU Bison.

Craig married Lesley Knuttila on April 6, 2002 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Craig worked in management for Lifetime Fitness in Chicago, Ill., and Columbus, Ohio. Craig and Lesley returned to Fargo in the summer of 2003, and he began his employment with the family business, PR Data. Craig was also a partner with his wife Lesley in a new business, Alternative Approach Naturopathic Center in Fargo.

Craig loved spending time with his daughters, Gabrielle Paige, 3 and Logan Kristine, 7 weeks, as well as his wife, Lesley. He was "the best daddy in the world." Craig accomplished many things in his lifetime and yet was so humble. He enjoyed waterskiing, hunting and sharing his time at Long Lake, Eagle Lake and Little Toad Lake with family. Craig had a fantastic sense of humor, made people laugh, and was always the entertainer.

Surviving Craig are his wife, Lesley; two daughters, Gabrielle and Logan; father: James (Denise) Fredrickson of Frazee; mother, Lynette (Phil) Majerus of Detroit Lakes; sister, Amy Fredrickson of Fargo; other siblings, Kris Wirth and Dustin Wirth, both of Detroit Lakes, Kelsey Wirth of Frazee, Caleb Majerus of Minneapolis and Kirby Majerus of Missoula, Mont.; grandmother, Arlene Bush of New Rockford, N.D.; father-in-law, Gery Knuttilla of Perham; and many extended family members. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Derry and Norma Fredrickson; grandfather, Glenn Bush; and mother-in-law, Kristine Knuttila.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Peter Hughes officiating.

Active casket bearers will be T.J. Koepplin, Jay Hatleli, Jackson Hagen, Matt Van Ray, Kris Wirth, Dustin Wirth, Caleb Majerus and Jeremy Knuttila.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Lewandowski, Mychal Gorden, Justin Wood and Matt Hovdenes.

Arrangements were entrusted to West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes.

In lieu of flowers, a trust will be opened for Gabrielle and Logan at Midwest Bank in Detroit Lakes. Tributes may be left on Craig's Caringbridge web page at www.caringbridge.org.
