Cretex breaks ground at Hawley location
Ground was broke on a new building for Cretex Concrete Products in Hawley.
The business purchased 80 acres at 401 Michael Street South in Hawley with plans to develop 40 of those acres into the manufacturing facility site.
The site will support 100,000 pounds of capacity travel lifts and utilize the natural resources in Eastern Clay County as it receives local aggregates to manufacture concrete pipe, a finished product that will be shipped to users throughout the region.
The facility will employ up to 40 people during its peak times.
Cretex will be one of the top five users of both the City of Hawley’s municipal Natural Gas and Electric Utilities.
The City of Hawley received a $500,000 DEED Greater Minnesota Business Development Public Infrastructure Grant for the project.
