DETROIT LAKES - The following items were taken from reports at the Detroit Lakes Police Department and the Becker County Sheriff's Department.
Wednesday, Jan. 16
At 4:15 p.m. a Detroit Lakes man reported receiving a suspicious check for a snowmobile he was selling. The buyer asked him to cash it and send the excess amount back by Western Union. It turned out to be a scam involving a counterfeit check.
Friday, Jan. 18
At 9:07 a.m. a Detroit Lakes woman reported her debit card had been used to purchase $105 worth of music at eMusic.com
At 10:28 a.m. two Frazee men reported their fish houses and several others had been rammed by a vehicle overnight.
At 1:57 p.m. a man reported that he had been in a one-vehicle accident on County Road 21 near Floyd Lake. His vehicle hit a guardrail and ended up in a culvert. No one was injured, but his wife dropped his wallet in the water.
At 3:51 p.m. Charlie's Tubing reported that several bags of empty beverage cans had been stolen from a building.
At 10:48 p.m. vandalism was reported at the Frazee Liquor Store.
Saturday, Jan. 19
At 1:40 a.m. the Holiday Inn complained about a man misbehaving in the bar. The 31-year-old man was arrested for fifth-degree assault, trespassing, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest with force, and having a loaded Sig Sauer .40 caliber handgun in the waistband of his pants. He was taken to jail.
At 2:38 a.m. a man on the 1200 block of Roosevelt reported an intoxicated man at the door who wanted to fight. The 32-year-old man was arrested.
At 9:36 a.m. Floral Impressions reported a BB hole in a window. The vandalism occurred overnight.
Monday, Jan. 21
At 1:10 p.m. a Detroit Lakes man reported a break-in to his fish house on the north side of Lake Melissa. Other fish houses in the area had also been entered.
At 7:26 p.m. Gjerde Auto Sales reported that a man took at 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix for a test drive and never came back. A stolen vehicle alert was issued.
