The following items were taken from reports filed with the Detroit Lakes Police Department and the Becker County Sheriff's Department:


Wednesday, April 16

-- At 5:22 a.m. Holiday Gas station reported a logging truck driver drove off without paying for about $200 worth of gas. Authorities were unable to locate the truck on major highways out of Detroit Lakes.

-- At 1:31 a.m. an assault was reported at the Becker County Jail. The offender was subdued with the help of a taser gun.

-- At 1:54 p.m. two women reported their purses had been stolen from the Detroit Lakes Public Library. The purses had been left by the lost-and-found near the front entry door and somebody took them.

-- At 2:30 p.m. the theft of a street sign was reported at Dolly's Trail and East Bad Medicine Lake road.

-- At 8:44 p.m. the theft of a motor vehicle was reported by a resident on the 29000 block of 130th Street, who said a car had been removed from the yard.

Thursday, April 17

-- At 9:56 a.m. a cabin break-in was reported on Lake Sallie near the fish hatchery.

-- At 10:38 a.m. an Osage man reported the theft of a new wood stove, still in its packaging.

-- At about 11 a.m. Thursday a teenage boy ran from the Becker County Courthouse prior to his court appearance, still wearing handcuffs.

The Detroit Lakes boy had been brought from Moorhead for a court hearing. The boy was later found at a house in the vicinity of Corbett Road and Granger Avenue in Detroit Lakes.

-- At 3:18 p.m. a Frazee man reported a 1996 Hundai was taken from Old Spruce Grove.

-- At 5 p.m. a Frazee woman reported that she took her Pontiac Grand Prix to a shop in Detroit Lakes because it did not run, and a mechanic there found maple syrup in the gas tank.

-- At 5:48 p.m. a grass fire was reported one mile northwest of Evergreen.

-- At 9:30 p.m. an Ogema woman reported she had been assaulted by another woman. She provided the name of the woman to the sheriff's department.

Friday, April 18

-- About 3 p.m. Detroit Lakes police officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at an apartment building on Jackson Avenue. One man was arrested inside the building. No additional information was immediately available.
