The following items were taken from reports at the Detroit Lakes Police Department and Becker County Sheriff's Department.
Tuesday, April 8
-- At 10:03 a.m. a young man allegedly tried to steal a pack of cigarettes from Holiday Convenience store. He was chased and caught by an off-duty member of the sheriff's auxiliary. The suspect was also wanted on an outstanding warrant. One pack of Marlboro Medium 100s was returned to the Holiday store.
Tuesday, April 22
-- At 9:23 p.m. a window was reported broken by vandalism at the DL Community Center.
-- At 1:31 p.m. a resident of the 200 block of East Main Street reported the theft of a number of prescription pain pills.
Wednesday, April 23
--At 2:45 p.m. a man reported that he believes his father shot someone while deer hunting in Itasca County in 1970. The case was referred to the Itasca County Sheriff's Department for follow-up.
-- At 5:33 p.m. an employee at Rossman Elementary School reported gang graffiti and an anti-police obscenity had been written in blue spray paint on the south side of the building.
Thursday, April 24
-- At about 7:45 a.m. graffiti was reported at the Detroit Lakes Middle School street entrance.
-- At 1:13 p.m. a man on the 1200 block of Eighth Street SE in Detroit Lakes reported the theft of an Xbox 360 video game system from his residence.
Friday, April 25
-- At 2:23 a.m. a woman on the 400 block of East Front Street reported someone had broken the windshield of her parked vehicle.
--At 5:18 a.m. a Ponsford woman reported a vehicle had left the roadway and hit a tree. It was abandoned and possibly stolen.
-- At 5:27 a.m. a Callaway woman reported a semi on fire on Highway 59. Firefighters were dispatched.
