The following items were taken from reports at the Becker County Sheriff's Department and Detroit Lakes Police Department:
Tuesday, Dec. 31
A half dozen non-injury accidents were reported in the Detroit Lakes area because of poor road conditions due to snowy weather.
Thursday, Jan. 1
At 6:33 a.m. an Ogema woman reported her son had been assaulted and the windows of his pickup truck had been broken at a party he was attending.
At 7:31 a.m. a White Earth woman reported a bed was on fire at a residence on the 36000 block of County Road 21. White Earth firefighters were on the scene for more than an hour.
At 11:49 a.m. a man reported the theft of checks from a vehicle parked at the Detroit Lakes Community Center.
At 3:47 p.m. a Clay County deputy reported he was fishing on Cormorant Lake when a snowmobile went into open water and sunk up to its windshield near Swannies. No one was hurt.
At 7:43 p.m. a lake cabin was reported burglarized on the 37000 block of Fisherman's Wharf Road in Eagle View Township. Taken were DVDs, artwork, and other items.
At 9:53 p.m. a Bemidji man complained of back pain after his vehicle was rammed in a hit and run incident near White Earth. The occupants of the other vehicle reportedly left the area on foot.
Friday, Jan. 2
At 4:19 p.m. a Detroit Lakes man reported the theft of a snowblower from the 13000 block of Fairhaven Lane, Lakeview Township.
At 11:01 p.m. a Naytahwaush man reported he had stopped to help the occupant of a vehicle stuck in the ditch. Once free, the intoxicated driver backed into the rescuer's vehicle and then pulled into a driveway.
Saturday, Jan. 3
At 12:36 p.m. a Fergus Falls man reported a garage break-in at his property in Rochert.
At 5:22 p.m. Park Rapids firefighters spent two hours at the scene of a residential fire in the Two Inlets area.
Sunday, Jan. 4
A number of cars in the ditch and non-injury accidents were reported due to snowy weather and poor driving conditions.
At 2:49 p.m. Detroit Lakes police received a complaint about a man in the mall area with spray paint on his face, apparently from inhaling it. The 50-year-old man was arrested for public nuisance.
Monday, Jan. 5
At 2:39 p.m. a Lake Park woman reported four storage units had been forcibly entered on the 13000 block of County Road 4, Cormorant.
