Crime & Accidents
The following items were taken from reports at the Becker County Sheriff's Department and Detroit Lakes Police Department:
Wednesday, Aug. 19
At 12:54 a.m., a Frazee resident near the Frazee Care Center area reported hearing gunshots and then talking a while later.
At 7:55 p.m., a resident along Lake Melissa reported a boathouse being burglarized. They reported wakeboards, wine, beer, food and steaks stolen.
Thursday, Aug. 20
At 10:33 a.m., a vehicle lost control near Longbridge and spun backwards before going over the curb and onto the embankment. The male driver said he had no traction, but a witness said speed was the cause. Both driver side tires popped off the rims of the car.
At 12:16 p.m., Super Lube reported a North Dakota tractor and trailer struck a tank, causing an estimated 200 gallons of used oil to spill. The Detroit Lakes Fire Department assisted on the call and clean up.
At 12:23 p.m., two Detroit Lakes women were involved in a vehicle accident on Roosevelt Avenue near City Hall. The woman that was rear-ended was transported to St. Mary's Innovis Health, complaining of neck pain.
At 12:53 p.m., an ATV was reported on fire on a trail near Ice Cracking Lake.
At 1:15 p.m., a vehicle accident was reported at the corner of Willow Street and Summit Avenue. A Minneapolis woman stopped at the stop sign and then pulled out in front of a Rochert woman. The Rochert driver swerved to miss the vehicle but struck it anyway. There were no injuries.
