Crime & Accidents for Aug. 7 - Aug. 11
The following items were taken from reports at the Detroit Lakes Police Department and Becker County Sheriff's Department.
Thursday, Aug. 7
At 8:26 a.m. a woman reported a wallet stolen at the White Earth Head Start program.
At 8:30 p.m. a woman reported her purse had been stolen on the 1200 block of Loring Avenue.
At 3:47 p.m. an ATV accident was reported by St. Joseph's hospital in Park Rapids. It occurred on the 1300 block of County Road 45, Spruce grove Township. A deputy was on the scene about 20 minutes.
At 4:51 p.m. WE Fest reported a man had exposed himself in the concert bowl.
At 6:47 p.m. a man reported the theft of a pop-up Marine Corps canopy from WE Fest.
At 7:38 p.m. a stolen Wells Fargo credit card was reported.
At 11:48 p.m. an assault victim was treated by EMS workers at WE Fest, then continued on his way.
Friday, Aug. 8
At 12:29 a.m. a vender at WE Fest reported the theft of $600 in food and drink tickets from a booth.
At 12:59 a.m. a Hayward, Wis., man reported an assault in the concert bowl after a concert at WE Fest.
At 1:02 a.m. a Fargo woman reported a white purse with credit cards and other items stolen from her car at the day parking lot at WE Fest.
At 1:22 a.m. an Ely man reported the theft of items from tents and recreational vehicles at the Northwoods campgrounds during WE Fest.
At 2:34 a.m. theft and vandalism was reported in the Blue Ox Campground at WE Fest.
At 2:49 a.m. an assault was reported at the Lake Sallie Campground.
At 3:31 a.m. an 18-year-old man was reported down and unresponsive at WE Fest. Medical workers treated him with an IV tube. EMS workers were on the scene about 40 minutes.
At 3:47 a.m. vandalism was reported at Eagle Campground at WE Fest.
At 5:01 a.m. three purses were found at Eagle Campground.
At 5:14 a.m. EMS workers were called to Hilltop campground at WE Fest to treat an assault victim.
At 12:30 p.m. a Dickinson, N.D., man reported tires had been slashed on his black 2001 GMC four-door pickup truck, which has been parked in a back yard on the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue.
At 2:30 p.m. police responded to an disorderly conduct call at the Pine Point powwow.
At 3:26 p.m. a tribal police officer reported damage to a squad car caused by a man peeling off the lettering.
At 3:40 p.m. an Edina man reported the theft of a wallet at Blue Ox campground.
At 4:41 p.m. a man at Eagle Campgrounds reported that he believed that WE Fest security guards were out of control at Eagle campground.
At 4:42 p.m. a man at Viking campground reported that security guards were out of control.
At 4:56 p.m. a man reported the theft of a car parked for seven years in a field in Runeberg township. Police found it in Hubbard County after reports of a gas drive-off.
At 7:09 p.m. a vender at WE Fest reported the theft of a ring from a booth in the concert bowl.
At 9:17 p.m. a theft was reported at Viking Campground at WE Fest.
At 9:58 p.m. a woman reported that she had been inappropriately touched by a security guard at the WE Fest Ranchhouse.
At 10:45 p.m. a camper at Oatfield Campground reported a car window had been smashed and items stolen from inside the vehicle.
At 11:10 p.m. a female assault victim was reported at WE Fest.
At 11:31 p.m. an Ogema woman reported a mother hollering and beating her 12-year-old daughter outside. She requested to talk to an officer.
At 11:57 p.m. a woman reported being assaulted in the VIP area at WE Fest.
Sunday, Aug. 9
At 12:03 a.m. a Fargo woman reported that someone broke her car window and stole her purse from the inside of the vehicle while parked in the VIP area at WE Fest.
At 1:23 a.m. a theft was reported at Viking campground.
At 1:58 a.m. a Columbia Heights man reported an assault at WE Fest.
At 2:35 a.m. the theft of a wallet, camera and iPod were reported at Hilltop Campground.
At 3:58 a.m. a Frazee woman reported harassment of her sister and a possible sexual assault at WE Fest.
At 4:07 a.m. a Ponsford woman reported a man threw beer cans at her car. She requested to speak to an officer.
At 6:12 a.m. a Detroit Lakes woman reported she was assaulted by her brother at WE Fest.
At 8:14 a.m. a Waubun woman reported a car full of people tried to steal her lawn mower.
At 9:10 a.m. a Detroit Lakes man reported his vehicle window was broken out overnight while parked on the 25000 block of Brandy Lake Boulevard.
At 10:31 a.m. a Duluth man reported the theft of a Honda 5000 generator from Eagle Campground at WE Fest.
At 10:42 a.m. a Bismarck woman reported the theft of a cell phone, coolers and blankets from Viking Campground at WE Fest.
At 12:26 p.m. an accident with possible injuries was reported on Highway 10 near Yards & More.
The accident involved a 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora, driven by Jeremy Clem Keil, 19, of Perham, which was in the left eastbound lane of Highway 10.
A 2003 Ford Mustang, driven by Cole Edward Neumeister, 16, of Detroit Lakes, tried to cross the eastbound lanes of Highway 10 from East Shore Drive.
Neumeister stated there was a large pickup truck in the right turn lane of eastbound Highway 10 which prevented him from seeing the Oldsmobile.
The front of the Mustang struck the right rear of the Oldsmobile and sent the Oldsmobile skidding into the median to the east of the intersection.
At 12:31 p.m. a person was reported lying on the side of Highway 59 near Ogema. The State Patrol handled the case.
At 8:07 p.m. a stripped-out 1983 Chevy pickup was found behind the cemetery at Pine Point. It had been stolen, but the theft had not been reported yet.
At 8:26 p.m. a Detroit Lakes woman reported a young woman was hurt after a car took off while she was sitting on it, causing her to fall off near Rossman School.
Monday, Aug. 10
At 8:13 a.m. a White Earth man reported someone burned his American flag and some other items outside his home on the 36000 block of Loon Drive, White Earth.
At 8:30 a.m. a Frazee man reported someone broke a passenger side window in his vehicle at the VIP area at WE Fest, and stole a purse, which was later recovered.
At 11:01 a.m. a Detroit Lakes woman reported a lost or stolen purse at the WE Fest concert bowl.
At 11:15 a.m. a Detroit Lakes woman reported she had lost a 2.1 carat diamond out of a piece of jewelry while she was at WE Fest.
At 12:37 p.m. a Carrington, N.D. woman reported the theft of two wallets from a vehicle at Eagle Campground at WE Fest.
At 3:18 p.m. a Bismarck woman reported the theft of a wallet at the Northwoods campground at WE Fest.
Tuesday, Aug. 11
At 2:17 a.m. a Bemidji woman reported an assault at the Twin Haven mobile home park on Highway 34.
