The following items were taken from reports at the Detroit Lakes Police Department and Becker County Sheriff's Department.

Wednesday, Aug. 24


• At 1:44 a.m. a White Earth man in the East Projects reported that a man was trying to set a car on fire in his front yard, and that his daughter was outside arguing with him. The man left the scene on foot. White Earth officers handled the case.

• At 9:29 a.m. Hanson Auto Sales on Highway 34 near Detroit Lakes reported that tires had been slashed on 15-20 vehicles and a number of vehicles had been scratched with a sharp metal object.

• At 11:07 p.m. Cenex in Detroit Lakes reported that a person was having a severe reaction to a bee sting. St. Mary's EMS handled the case with the help of a DL police officer.

• At 1:22 p.m. a hit-and-run accident was reported on the 500 block of East Central. A 1994 Ford driven by Chealsie Rae Sweeney, 22, of rural Lake Park collided with a 1995 Ford driven by Ernest Melvin Olson Jr., 63, of Detroit Lakes. He left the scene and was later located, appearing confused and disoriented, according to the police report.

• At 8:56 p.m. a Ponsford woman reported a cabin break-in in North Round Lake Township.

Thursday, Aug. 25

• At 6:19 a.m. a farmer west of Two Inlets reported that coyotes were killing a deer near a river where he has cattle.

• At 6:38 a.m. a resident on the 200 block of Sherman reported that two vehicles had been entered overnight and rifled through.

• At 8:01 a.m. a vehicle burglary was reported on the 1100 block of Rossman Avenue. Two vehicles were gone through. A tom tom was stolen and a glovebox was left open.

• At 8:11 a.m. a resident on the 1300 block of Madison reported that a locked vehicle had been entered overnight and contents of the center console thrown around.

• At 8:25 a.m. a vehicle burglary was reported on the 500 block of Reynolds Street. Two vehicles were gone through. Taken were a silver 32 gig iPod Touch and about $50 in change.

• At 8:27 a.m. a resident on the 900 block of Willow reported a vehicle had been entered overnight, and an iPod taken and wallet gone through, but not taken.

• At 8:30 a.m. a resident on the 1300 block of Madison Avenue reported that a vehicle, which had been locked, was found open in the morning and the glove box had been gone through.

• At 11:31 a.m. a resident on the 21000 block of Cozy Cove Road reported bullet holes in several mailboxes.

• At 5 p.m. a man on the 1100 block of Linden Lane reported that a tent in his yard had been cut with a knife.

• At 11:10 p.m. a Callaway man reported an assault. He had been punched in the face by a known man.

Friday, Aug. 26

• At 1:01 a.m. a man reported an assault at the Cormorant Inn.

• At 10:15 a.m. a four-wheeler accident was reported near the 31000 block of 240th Avenue in the Callaway area. A male suffered a leg injury and was transported to Essentia Health St. Mary's hospital in Detroit Lakes by St. Mary's EMS.
