Crime and Accidents
The following items were taken from reports at the Detroit Lakes Police Department and Becker County Sheriff's Office.
Friday, Nov. 2
At 12:48 a.m. a domestic dispute was reported on the 1100 block of Linden lane.
At 8:55 a.m. a window was reported to have been shot out on the west side of the 800 block of Roosevelt Avenue.
At 12:06 p.m. a Brandy Lake Road man reported the theft of 15 auto batteries and two outdoor trail cameras.
At 12:50 p.m. the theft of three propane tanks was reported on the 25000 block of County Road 25.
Saturday, Nov. 3
At 10:11 p.m. multiple thefts from multiple vehicles were reported on the 500 block of 11th Avenue.
At 10:13 p.m. a theft from a vehicle was reported at the Middle School parking lot.
Sunday, Nov. 4
At 2:15 a.m. the theft from a vehicle was reported on East Central Street.
At 10 a.m. a Callaway man reported an assault.
At 12:02 p.m. a shed break-in was reported in Savannah Township. A snowblower was taken.
At 3:12 p.m. the theft of a diaper bag from a vehicle was reported from the 400 block of West Elm Street. It held a handbag with a wallet containing credit cards and ID cards.
At 7:16 p.m. a woman reported a man carrying a large knife on the 1400 block of Highway 10. He said he was homeless and asked a lot of questions, making people uncomfortable. Police were unable to locate him.
At 7:53 p.m. a 19-year-old man was found hiding in a closet of a home on the 300 block of Homestead Street. The homeowner told police he had never seen the man before, but the stranger turned out to be a friend of the man's daughter.
Monday, Nov. 5
At 11:22 a.m. vandalism was reported at the Peoples Park warming house. Christmas lights were torn from the building.
At 2:58 p.m. a burglary was reported at a Cass-Clay cold storage unit off Randolph Road. A quantity of ice cream was stolen.
Thursday, Nov. 8
At 8:30 a.m. the theft of a Milwaukee drill and Rugby 410 dual grade laser were reported from a vehicle parked at the sports arena in Detroit Lakes. Also taken was $80 cash and 25 youth hockey lottery tickets, along with a backpack full of hunting gear and other items. The theft occurred Monday night.
At 8:38 a.m. the theft of a Jonsered back pack blower was reported from the back of a pickup truck parked at Burnside's.
At 3:59 p.m. the theft of a hunting blind was reported from a pickup truck parked at Best Western. A window was broken to gain entrance.
At 7:38 p.m. a dumpster fire was reported on the 1200 block of Eighth St. S.E.
Friday, Nov. 9
At 10:47 a.m. a burglary was reported at a residence on the 14000 block of County Road 29. Entry was gained by breaking a window, Taken was change stored in clean soup cans and pickle jars.
At 7:23 p.m. a burglary was reported on the 100 block of Oak Grove Avenue.
