The following items were taken from records at the Becker County Sheriff's Department and Detroit Lakes Police Department:

Friday, March 2


• At 2 p.m. a resident of the 1100 block of Riverview Lane reported receiving a letter regarding water service coverage for the connection pipe from the street to the house. Police consider it a scam letter and advised homeowners not to respond.

• At 4:15 p.m. a computer repairman reported being stabbed in the arm with a pen by a customer on the 17000 block of Highland Drive.

Saturday, March 3

• At 12:25 a.m. a 22-year-old man was arrested for causing problems and refusing to leave Zorbaz when ordered by employees.

• At 2:09 p.m. a vehicle was pulled over for driving the wrong way on Highway 10 near Walmart. An evaluation was ordered for the 89-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle.

• At 11:42 p.m. a 21-year-old woman was arrested and charged with fourth-degree DWI and criminal damage to property after a snowmobile hit a utility pole near a baseball field in Detroit Lakes.

Sunday, March 4

• At 4:03 a.m. a man who lives on the 1100 block of Roosevelt Avenue reported an unknown man had entered his house. The homeowner pushed the 27-year-old intruder out the front door, and the stranger was cited by police for being a public nuisance.

Monday, March 5

• At 3:53 p.m. a shed break-in was reported on the 58000 block of Grant Street, Osage.

Wednesday, March 7

• At 6:35 p.m. a man suffered possible injuries when a semi went into the ditch and struck a power pole on County Road 41 in Evergreen Township, just south of Highway 87, according to KDLM Radio.

A man in the semi was trapped after power lines fell onto the truck's cab. The man was rescued from the semi but his name, condition and other information was not released by the sheriff's department.

The Becker County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Frazee and Wolf Lake fire departments, Wolf Lake Rescue, and the Minnesota State Patrol.

• At 1 p.m. a woman on the 1300 block of Bowling Avenue reported receiving a Fed Ex delivery containing only a check for $2,450 from Madison University. No letter or other explanation was included. Police checked and found the university has a different address than the one listed on the check, which came back as an "invalid" address. Copies of the check were sent to the state's anti-fraud unit.
