Cutting through the confusion: Volunteers help seniors choose right drug plan

Email News Alerts

It's decision time for seniors.

Starting Jan. 1, all Medicare recipients in the U.S. will have access to prescription drug insurance coverage, regardless of income, health status, or amount of drug usage.

For a monthly premium, this program, known as Medicare Part D, will typically pay over half of a participant's prescription drug costs. Enrollment is voluntary, but choosing not to enroll when first eligible may mean paying higher premiums later.
