Dancers take home multiple wins
Center Stage Dance Academy of Detroit Lakes brought home many wins after competing in the Triple S National Dance Championships in Wisconsin Dells, June 20-23.
After qualifying in the regional competition, all four Center Stage competition teams earned the opportunity to advance to the national level along with many small group and individual competitors.
The Pre-Competition team (ages 5-8) took home a first place finish, Junior Company (ages 8-12) brought home a first and second place finish, Apprentice Company (ages 12-15) took fifth and sixth place, and Senior Company (ages 15-18) earned first, second and third place National Titles.
Center Stage also earned multiple other awards for their solos, duets, trios and small groups — including a second place finish for their boys group.
Three dancers, Greta Fritz, Katelyn Johnson and Caitlin Collins, were selected to train with master level instructors at nationals and perform in a special “Chance to Dance” performance on the final night of competition.
In addition, four dancers, Caitlin Collins, Brina Smith, Carly Fritz Grace Lindquist, earned scholarships to a weeklong dance camp in Chicago based upon their technique, performance and ability.
