Daryl E. Wischnak, 74, of Vergas, died Septem-ber 10, 2013 at his residence.
Daryl Eldon Wischnak was born to Ed and Ida (Gravermoen) Wischnak on August 16, 1939 in Frazee. He grew up on a farm in rural Vergas, and attended country school. He graduated from Frazee High School in 1957.
Daryl lived in the Vergas area his entire life. Over the years he farmed with his father and brother and drove truck for Merle Hough, Lakeview Township, and the Perham Creamery. He also worked for the Northern Turkey Farm in Pelican Rapids, and following retirement worked part time for Thomson Painting in Wolverton.
Daryl loved the outdoors, farming, hunting, fishing, and reading westerns. He was very much a people person, who enjoyed visiting with others.
Surviving Daryl are his wife Patricia; three daughters, Debbie Peterson of Queens Creek, Ariz., Diane (Dale) Ladwig of Frazee and Denise Bunnis of Fargo; four sons, Brian (Kathy) Wischnak of Rock Island, Ill., Bruce (Shauna) Wischnak of Fargo, Billy (Lisa Burgard) Wischnak of Moorhead and Bradley (Nicole) Wischnak of Far-go; 14 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; granddaughter, Tabitha Janssen; grandson, John Bunnis; brother, Leland Wischnak; sister, Rosella Reese; and niece, Renae Swann.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday Sept. 14 in West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, with visitation for two hours prior to the service.
Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes.
