DAV reaching out to others

Disabled American Veterans Lakeland Chapter 31 presented a check for $1,000 to Linda Wiedewitsch of Patriot Assistance Dogs to be used for medical care and testing of current and future trainee dogs.

The program has already placed over a dozen dogs with area veterans.

Lakeland Chapter 31 of the Disabled American Veteran also presented the Helping Hands a check for their share of used clothing and misc. items collected by them and sold by the DAVto support Veterans programs in the lakes area such as the NW Veterans Transportation program, Veterans Court program, Patriot Assistance Dog program, and numerous VAMC programs.

These donations are made possible by the sale of used clothing and other miscellaneous items to a re-seller for sale or donation to other persons in need. Collection trailers are located across from Central Market and next to Compassion house on 8th Street East in Detroit Lakes and collection bins at Michaels Furniture, American Legion Club, Schatz Electric, and Audubon Meats in Audubon.
