David Theodore Jensen, 72, of Detroit Lakes, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014.
Dave grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School. After graduation, Dave enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Moffett Federal Airfield in Sunnyvale, Calif. He then attended North Dakota State School of Science in
Post graduation, Dave worked as an engineer for U.S. West Communications until his retirement in 1992. Dave had an affinity for motorcycles, filling his garage and, on occasion, his living room, with various motorcycle parts. He also loved fishing, deer hunting, hill climbs, and carving crazy pumpkins with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving Dave are his wife Sharon Jensen of Detroit Lakes; two sons, Corey Jensen of Davenport, N.D., and Scott Jensen of Loveland, Colo., two daughters, Dolly Jensen of Independence, Ore., and Tedi Jensen of Loveland, Co.; and nephew Joel (Robin) Stewart of Suffolk, Va. He is also survived by five grandchildren (Ryan, Saman-tha,
Nicholas, Audrey, and Emma), two great grandchildren, Rylan and Sebastian; and one grand nephew, Jake, along with many loving extended family members and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Theodore Jensen and Hazel Braaten; his stepfather, Stanley Braaten; his sister, Darlene Stewart; and his son, Mark Jensen.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 18 in Zion Lutheran Church on Franklin Lake, 24876 Franklin Lake Road, Pelican Rapids.
