David G. Molacek, 76, of Callaway, died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Essentia Health in Fargo.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 at David-Donehower Funeral Home, with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery and Military Rites provided by the Lake Region Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18 and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at David-Donehower Funeral Home.
David George Molacek was born to Anton and Christine (Maruska) Molacek on November 2, 1935 in Riceville Township, rural Callaway. He was raised in rural Callaway and attended District 111 rural school through the 9th grade.
He than attended Detroit Lakes High School through the 11th grade. He transferred to the Crookston Agriculture School, graduating in 1953.
David farmed with his father and brothers in rural Callaway until entering the Army in 1958. Following his discharge in 1962, he rejoined the family farm operation.
David was united in marriage to Jacqueline Snead, February 16, 1963 in Robbinsdale, Minn. They made their home near Callaway, where they farmed until his death.
David was a member of the Elks and the American Legion. He enjoyed farming and working the land.
Survivors include his wife Jacqueline, of Callaway; a daughter, Christine (Todd) Boit of Detroit Lakes; two grandsons, Anthony and Alexander Boit; three great grandsons, Braydon, Max and Mason Boit; and three sisters, Viola Boatman in Wisconsin, MaryAnn Herberg in Minnesota and Nydia Lefebvre of Ogema.
Preceding him in death were his parents; seven brothers, Raymond, Joseph, Anthony, Leonard, Howard, Millard and Virgil; and two sisters, Margaret and RoseAlice.
