Davina & the Vagabonds at Top Hat Theatre Feb. 5
Come to hear some New Orleans jazz and a touch of the blues on Saturday, Feb. 5, as the Twin Cities-based band Davina and the Vagabonds visits the Top Hat Theatre at Ulen-Hitterdal School for a 7:30 p.m. concert.
Davina Sowers hit the Midwest scene in February 2005 and she hasn't looked back since.
It didn't take her long after moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota from Key West, Fla., to start making a name for herself.
With great vocals and piano, she commands attention on stage and leaves everyone smiling.
Davina has been performing since the age of 5, with the support of an extremely musical family.
Sowers, a classically trained pianist, has years of experience in piano performance.
She and her band made a big splash at Duluth's Bayfront Blues Festival from 2006 to 2008, having the highest sales in CDs all three years.
She has been called the "hardest working blues woman in frigid Minnesota."
Tickets for the show are available now at the U-H School office in Ulen, or you can call 218-596-8853 to reserve tickets for pick up the night of the show.
Cost is $15 adults and $10 students.
Prior to the Feb. 5 show, the Ulen Café will feature a special dinner, with serving to start at 5 p.m.
The meal will feature either a pork loin or lemon-peppered sole dinner, or you can order off the menu.
Reservations are not necessary for the dinner.
