Deer biology to be discussed
There will be a Quality Deer Management Association event on Sunday, March 28 at the Cactus in Perham at 1:30 p.m.
The guest speaker will be certified wildlife biologist Kip Adams, director of education and outreach for QDMA's northern region.
Adams, who co-hosts Quality Whitetails TV, has a bachelor's degree in wildlife and fisheries science from Penn State and a master's degree in wildlife and fisheries from the University of New Hampshire.
He'll discuss topics including deer biology; breeding behavior; aging bucks on the hoof; buck movement patterns and home ranges; habitat management and food plots.
He is an avid whitetail hunter with a bow, muzzleloader and rifle, and a prior wildlife biologist with the Florida Game and Fish Commission and deer and bear project leader for the New Hampshire Fish and Game Dept.
The seminar starts at 1:30 p.m. and doors open at 1 p.m. at The cactus in Perham, located at 43521 Fort Thunder Road
Admission is free and there will be raffles and door prizes.
