Dennis Joseph Lessard, 68, of Detroit Lakes, died peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Frazee Care Center in Frazee.
Dennis was born to Frederick and Juliette (Collette) Lessard on September 15, 1945 in Grafton, N.D. He attended St. Aloysius Academy before graduating high school from Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston.
Dennis loved life on the farm and farmed with his father in the Grafton area through the 1990's. Upon retirement, he and his wife, MayDean VanVoorhis, moved to the Detroit Lakes area.
Surviving Dennis are his mother Juliette, of Temecula, Calif.; a brother, Earl, of Detroit Lakes; two sisters, Karen (Philip) Hansen of Temecula, Calif., and Merry (Carter) Anderson of Sioux Falls, S.D.
Preceding him in death were his wife, MayDean, his father, Frederick and a brother, Raphael.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 15 in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Oakwood, N.D.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorials be sent to the Frazee Care Center, 219 W. Maple Ave., Frazee, MN 56544, for their memory garden or for the benefit of the residents; or to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Detroit Lakes.
