Dennis Edward Presler was born to Melvin and Dorothy (Riquet) Presler on December 12, 1947 at Staten Island, N.Y. While an infant, he moved with his family to Alfred, N.D., and then to Fargo, where he became a 1966 graduate of Fargo Central High School.
Following graduation, Dennis joined the United Sates Air Force, beginning his career as a military police officer. He was then trained as a military photographer, a skill that took him around the world taking pictures for the Air Force. Following his discharge in 1987, he moved to rural Vergas, where he learned to play the bass guitar.
Dennis played country western music with a number of bands. He became ill in 1995 and in 1998 moved to Detroit Lakes, where he was a silent partner in Toy Finders. Especially given his frail health, he loved spending time listening to his extensive record collection.
Survivors include two sisters and a brother, Rosalie Presler of Detroit Lakes, Shirley (Bradley) Bergquist of Detroit Lakes and Scott (Debbie) Presler of Central City, Iowa.
His parents preceded him in death. David-Donehower Funeral Home is serving the family. Memories may be shared online at www.daviddonehower.com.
