Dennis Vesey

April 14, 1945-Dec. 17, 2008

Former Warren, Minn., resident Dennis Vesey, 63, of Detroit Lakesdied on Wednesday morning, Dec. 17, 2008 at his home, with his family by his side.

Dennis Warren Vesey was born the son of Leverne and Marian (Hallan) Vesey on April 14, 1945 in Hallock, Minn. He lived with his family in Donaldson, Minn., until moving to Stephen, Minn., in 1952. He graduated from Stephen High School in 1963.

After graduation, Dennis moved to Warren and worked in the telephone industry for 32 years. He worked through many different job descriptions, mergers and name changes, the last being GTE Telephone. Dennis married Gail Norman on Feb. 17, 1973 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren. In 1998, they retired and moved to Detroit Lakes.

Dennis was a charter member of the Warren Volunteer Ambulance Corp (1970-80), member of the Warren Volunteer Fire Department (1980-98), and a member of the Masons and the Kem Temple.

Dennis loved to spend time with his family and friends; he never met a stranger. He found good qualities and merit in everyone he met. Dennis was a wonderful host, with the ability to make everyone feel special. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin, riding his Harley, enjoying the lakes and outdoors and spoiling his grandchildren.

Left to mourn his passing are Dennis's wife, Gail; four children, Chad (Shawna) Vesey and Kim (Chad) Karpf, both of New London, Wis., Joe (Michelle) Vesey of Detroit Lakes and Patrick (Marcie) Vesey of West Fargo; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Alan (Karen) Vesey of Mequon, Wis.; sister, Renae (Carl) Rocholl of Elizabeth, Minn., and very cherished family friend, Ted Paul.

Dennis's parents, Leverne and Marian Vesey, preceded him in death.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren; there will be visitation for one hour prior to the start of services.
