Ten-year-old Caleb and eight-year-old David Blomberg are heading to Orlando, Fla., at the beginning of June to compete in the National Junior Bible Quiz competition.

When they moved to their new home on Star Lake a couple months ago, the Blomberg family decided to make a monthly trip back to their former home in Wisconsin so the boys could continue to compete with their established team, the Comets.

It proved to be a successful choice. The team took second in the state of Wisconsin, which sent them to Regionals in Minneapolis. When they placed fourth out of 20 at the North Central Regional meet, the team qualified to compete at the national level.

The boys, along with their parents Dave and Stephanie, explained the quiz show atmosphere in an interview last week. A Quiz Master - such as their mom - reads one of 600 Bible verses. Two teams of four race to interrupt the Quiz Master's quote with the press of a buzzer, which signifies they can complete the Bible verse word for word.

The brothers practice at home and during car rides. They'll often "quiz out" during practice, said David, meaning they correctly answer so many right that another rotating team member takes over.

The Bible Quiz is a family affair for the Blombergs, with Dad, Dave, serving as assistant head coach for the Comets.

Both boys have medals and trophies from their individual achievements.
