Dental clinic in DL Feb. 26-27
DETROIT LAKES - Apple Tree Dental and the Early Childhood Dental Network will bring its mobile, full-service dental clinic to Detroit Lakes on Tuesday, Feb. 26, and Wednesday, Feb. 27.
This dental service is designed specifically for children ages 2-12 covered under Minne-sota health care programs.
The mobile outreach clinic makes it convenient for families in Becker County covered under these programs to give their children the dental care they need by offering exams, cleanings, X-rays and treatment by a staff of dentists and hygienists.
The clinic will be held at the St. Mary's Regional Health Center, North Campus, 114 Frazee St. E, Detroit Lakes. Appointments must be made in advance by calling toll free: 888-863-1038 or 218-483-1038.
The outreach clinic is sponsored by the Becker County Early Childhood Initiative. It is funded by Apple Tree Dental, the Bremer Foundation, Dakota Medical Foundation, the Mc-Knight Foundation's Minnesota Early Childhood Initiative, and West Central Initiative.
It is a project of The Early Childhood Dental Network, a nine-county multi-disciplinary collaborative project designed to increase awareness and education to all children about the importance of oral health, and increase access to dental care. Mike Heiken, brain injury survivor, will be attending the Den-tal Clinic on Feb. 26-27 to hand out bike helmets to children.
