The Lakers had to go into overtime for the second game in a row, after losing to Fergus Falls last week.

The Lakers finished off the Panthers of Park Rapids 5-4 in OT.  DL started on fire again, taking a 3-0 lead in the first period, with  Tanner Lane starting the scoring quickly followed by a goal from Alex Mason.

Alex Phelps closed out the scoring late in the period to give the Lakers a 3-0 lead.

The second period saw the Panthers come out strong, but the Lakers matched the intensity and Lane's second goal kept the Lakers up by three after the second period.

In the third, the Lakers' game plan was working until halfway through the third when the refs took out their whistles and the Lakers found themselves down three times.

Park Rapids capitalized on all three power plays to tie the game 4-4.

But in the extra period, Lane recorded his third hat trick of the season to end the game and give DL the victory.

Lane's triple tally gives him a Section 6-1A leading 13 goals and eight assists in just five games. He is nearly averaging a hat trick a game, with an average of 2.6 goals per game.

Andrew Friesen had another great game, making 34 saves in getting his second win.

The win moved the Lakers to 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in the Mid-State Conference.

The Lakers' JV had their best output of the season, putting up eight goals in an 8-1 win over the Panthers.

Jacob Johnson had a goal and three assists on the game to take point honors.

Kirby Inderrieden and Austin Starkey each had two goals.

Cody Olsen, Derek Brehm and Brennan Benscoter each had one goal.  Michael Brunner had 10 saves for the game and the win. The Lakers' JV is now 2-3 on the season.
