On Aug. 29, his residence was searched by members of the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force, who found 4.5 grams of cocaine, along with packaging items.

He was charged with felony third-degree controlled substance crime, possession, for that incident.

On Oct. 2, 2007, Hanson and a woman were kicked out of a Detroit Lakes motel because they were not registered guests. Law enforcement officers later found a total of 11 grams of methamphetamines in the room.

He was charged with felony second-degree controlled substance crime, possession, for that incident.

Hanson was sentenced Monday in Becker County District Court by District Judge Joe Evans, who ordered him to serve 58 months in prison, with credit for seven days served in jail. He was fined $50 plus court fees, to be taken from prison earnings.
