Detroit Lakes School Board weighs community education options
The future of community education is still up in the air in Detroit Lakes.
With the upcoming retirement of Community Education Director Mark Greenig, Detroit Lakes Superintendent Doug Froke said that it's a perfect opportunity to decide on what to do.
An ad hoc committee of the Detroit Lakes School Board held its first meeting on Wednesday night to discuss the options on the table.
The three options on the table is to find a replacement for Greenig, hire a program coordinator for community education that would offer some savings over hiring another community education director or to enter into a contract with the Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center for community education.
