Detroit Lakes woman injured in car accident
A Detroit Lakes woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance after a two car accident in Detroit Lakes on Friday.
Frances Louise Johnson, 77, of Detroit Lakes was taken by St. Mary’s Ambulance to Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital. No information was available on possible injuries.
She was eastbound on Highway 10 in Detroit Lakes in a 1996 Ford and collided with a westbound vehicle.
The other driver — Verne Harold Peterson, 63, of Frazee, wasn’t transported. He was driving a 2001 Dodge.
According to the police report, as the two approached an intersection, Peterson was attempting to change lanes and Johnson thought he was turning left. The Dodge hit the right side of the Ford in the intersection.
