Detroit Lakes?man sentenced for assault
DETROIT LAKES - Wesley Allen Lauinger, 19, of 1227 Kenneth St., Detroit Lakes was sentenced for gross misdemeanor fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct
On June 14 a police officer was called to St. Mary's emergency room on report of a possible sexual assault.
Lauinger admitted to the officer that he and a girl more than 24 months younger than him had engaged in sexual penetration twice in June.
On Monday, District Judge Peter Irvine sentenced him to a year in jail, all but 30 days stayed for two years.
He can serve the 30 days in 48-hour blocks on seven consecutive weekends, plus one day. He was granted credit for time served and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus court fees.
He was ordered to register as a sex offender, submit a DNA sample, take psychological evaluation and follow the recommendations and attend any programs or counseling that is recommended by authorities.
