Diversicom purchase by Arvig is now final
Arvig Communication Systems or (ACS) announced last week that it has reached an agreement to acquire Diversicom and its subsidiaries which include Melrose Telephone Company, Mainstreet Communications and Wisper Wireless. The companies are headquartered in Melrose and Sauk Centre, Minn.
David Arvig, Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Arvig Communication Systems stated that, "Diversicom is a well run, progressive company that complements ACS in many ways.
"The location of the properties in Minnesota makes it a perfect fit for us. The Diversicom acquisition aligns with our goal of continuing to grow our communications and entertainment businesses."
Tom Arvig, a member of the Diversicom board, commented on the transaction by stating that "ACS is a leader in our industry and has done an outstanding job of growing their business in challenging times. ACS shares our commitment to both customer service and strong community involvement."
The purchase will become effective upon receipt of required regulatory approvals. The companies will operate as wholly-owned subsidiaries of Arvig Enterprises and customers will continue to receive their telecommunication services from Diversicom.
