DL Boys Basketball - Lien scores 26 points in Spuds' win
A sluggish start and a potent Moorhead scoring attack led by Aaron Lien was too much for the Detroit Lakes boys' basketball team to handle, as they fell on the road to the Spuds 78-48 Tuesday.
DL fell behind in the first half, which led to a commanding 39-22 halftime edge for the Spuds, who cruised through the second half outscoring the Lakers by a 39-26 margin.
The Lakers (10-11) was led by senior guard Kirk McLeod with 17 points, while sophomore guard Ryan Cihak added 14.
Lien dumped in 26 points for the Spuds (14-7), as Moorhead controlled the boards and forced 19 DL turnovers for the win.
The Lakers will look to rebound against Class 2A No. 2 ranked Hawley (19-2) Thursday inside Ralph Anderson Gym, starting at 7:30 p.m.
